Set in the gorgeous countryside village of Melbourne sits this stunning farmhouse which needed a new kitchen. Breathing new life into a kitchen that had seen generations of family gatherings and home-cooked meals. The homeowners had a vision of preserving the rustic charm of their beloved farmhouse while infusing it with a touch of timeless elegance. We designed this classic farmhouse kitchen that marries the warmth of cream and green shaker-style cabinets, an antique mirror backsplash, and a magnificent kitchen island.
The foundation of this kitchen’s transformation was the choice of cabinetry. The homeowners opted for shaker-style cabinets in a beautiful combination of cream and green. These cabinets are a perfect embodiment of the classic farmhouse style with their clean lines and unpretentious design. The cream cabinets provide a sense of tranquility and balance, while the green cabinets add a delightful pop of color, reflecting the lush fields outside. The soft, matte finish of the cabinets complements the natural light that streams in through the farmhouse windows, creating an inviting and airy atmosphere.
We added an antique mirrored backsplash to reflect light from the huge sash windows, creating a light and airy room. This design touch creates a fusion between the old and the new, with the rustic appearance of the mirror contrasting the clean matt cabinets of this green farmhouse kitchen.
The homeowners chose top of the range appliances including Neff ovens and hob, making this space perfect for large family meals and entertaining guests. A Shaws double Classic Belfast sink with The 1810 Company classic bridge tap blend perfectly with the classic farmhouse look.
Throughout the kitchen, we chose to use brass finish accessories which compliment the golden tones of the antique mirror backsplash, as well as beautifully contrasting the ‘Bancha’ panted kitchen island.
