At Kedleston Interiors, we pride ourselves on building lasting relationships with our clients. So, when a previous customer, for whom we had designed and installed a stunning bathroom, approached us to create their dream kitchen with contrasting kitchen island, we were delighted to take on the challenge.

Our client envisioned a space that combined timeless elegance with modern functionality. With this in mind, we designed a bespoke shaker style kitchen that seamlessly blends traditional charm with contemporary features. It’s the perfect style to suit their country home, and doesn’t stray too far from their original kitchen – just updates the style and adds warmth.

BEFORE

The chosen colour palette – Bone for the wall cabinetry and Bancha for the island – creates a striking yet harmonious contrast, giving the kitchen a warm and inviting feel. ‘Bone’ is a soft grey colour with green undertones, making it the perfect match for the deeper, ever so popular shade Bancha. We’ve seen an influx of clients going for a contrasting kitchen island, which allows them to explore multiple colours, creating a visually interesting space.

To ensure durability and sophistication, we incorporated high-quality materials throughout the kitchen. The worktops are crafted from luxurious quartz by Caesarstone, providing a sleek and durable surface – perfect for everyday use and entertaining. We carefully designed bespoke cabinetry to maximise storage and complement the overall aesthetic.

A split level island creates space for five comfortably sized chairs, perfect for a large family breakfast or for entertaining a group. Other functional features like space for a large American style fridge/freezer and a bi-folding cabinet to conceal clutter, make this kitchen ideal for modern living.

AFTER

The end result is a beautifully crafted kitchen with a gorgeous contrasting kitchen island. With its stunning aesthetic, top-tier materials, and high-performance appliances, this kitchen is designed to be enjoyed by many, for many years to come.
