From Italian villa, French farmhouse to English cottage all country style kitchens have one thing in common, a homespun warmth radiating charm; and this home in Breaston is no different.
With various styles on display at our purpose-built showroom in Derby, our client visited us to gain some inspiration and discuss their dream kitchen design. Looking for a more traditional design for their cottage, the shaker style was an obvious choice to bring their dream to life.
A shaker style cabinet is characterised by a five-piece door with a recessed centre panel and usually decorated with more conventional hardware.
One of the most appealing elements of a country or farmhouse kitchen is its lack of uniformity; you can choose almost any colour scheme that works best for you and the space, whilst still maintaining a country-style charm and personality. Cupboard and drawer handles are a must with our client selecting cup handles to flatter the shaker style facia.
A key characteristic of any country style kitchen is to make the cooker a focal point; opting for no other than a beautiful range style – the perfect touch for any country home. Range cookers are much larger; have at least five hob burners and provide ample oven space – which should delight the chef in the home.
To compliment the traditional shaker style units, our client opted for matching worktops and splashbacks in Carrara, a marble finish with a sink set into the worktop seamlessly.
Feature shelving and under-unit lighting was added to add further warmth and charm to the design; with a small breakfast bar sitting neatly into the space providing the perfect place to perch and enjoy the views of the garden.
Meticulously installed by our team of expert craftsmen, this shaker style traditional kitchen demonstrates how you can inject warmth and character into your kitchen.
