Nestled in the heart of Marchington, this family home required a kitchen and utility renovation that balanced timeless elegance with modern functionality. Our clients wanted to transform their generous kitchen space into a warm, homely area perfect for everyday cooking, entertaining, and gathering with friends and family. They also wanted to renovate their utility in the same style as the kitchen, to create a seamless flow through their home. Let’s run through the features of this painted warm grey shaker kitchen and utility.

BEFORE

Our client’s previous kitchen was a traditional wooden kitchen with black worktops and a tiled white backsplash. They wanted to brighten up the space, maximise storage and create a kitchen island fit for entertaining. They were looking for a timeless design to be enjoyed by friends and family for many years to come.

AFTER

When it comes to timeless design, a warm grey shaker kitchen is a classic choice. Our bespoke cabinetry features clean lines, inset doors, and understated hardware. We matched the colour of the painted cabinets to Elephant’s Breath for its soft, silvery-taupe tone, which harmonises beautifully with natural light from the wide garden-facing window. A crisp white quartz worktop and backsplash provide a bright, clean surface for preparing meals.

Integrated Storage: Pull-out spice racks in the tall pantry, concealed broom cupboard, and soft-close drawers optimize every inch of space.

Appliance Wall: A seamless run of full-height cabinets houses dual Neff ovens, warming drawer, and a built-in wine fridge. The minimalist appliances blend into the Shaker framework for a cohesive look.

Cooking Hub: The induction hob sits beneath a discreet Falmec ceiling-extractor, ensuring powerful ventilation without interrupting the clean ceiling line.

Quooker & Sinks: The 1810 deep ceramic sink is paired with a Quooker tap, delivering instant boiling water for faster prep.

Island Seating: A centrally located island with overhang seating encourages family breakfasts, after-school homework sessions and casual entertaining.

Matching Utility Space: A utility space using the same cabinetry and worktops creates a separate but cohesive space for white goods and organisation.

The completed shaker kitchen marries heritage charm with contemporary performance. The homeowners now enjoy a beautifully harmonious space that meets the demands of daily life, whether whipping up family dinners, entertaining friends, or simply enjoying a quiet cup of tea overlooking the garden.
